Happy Birthday, Jaden!

Jaden is one year old!!!! We can hardly believe it, time has flown by so quickly and now our little darling is all grown up! It was just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital and getting up several times a night for feedings. Now he is sleeping through the night (most of the time!), running all over the place and eating like a champ. We couldn't be happier or ask for a more wonderful little boy.

At our one year check up the pediatrician said he is doing great. Here are his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs (20%)

Height: 30 inches (50%)

Sidenote: Jaden has gotten lighter. Compared to his pictures from several months ago, he is now kind of skinny! He used to be kind of chunky. See picture below. That's Jaden at seven months!

We had a great little celebration with Ah Ma and Ah Gong and Uncle Victor. As you can see, Jaden had some fun with his own itty bitty cake. He looks so cute in his party hat!

As you can see, Jaden has changed dramatically over the months. Above is a picture of him at just a few minutes old. When he first came out he was all wrinkly and red, very over-cooked. He was almost a week past due (my fault, since I kept telling him not to come yet! I wasn't ready!) so when he finally did come (I was induced), his fingers and toes looked like they'd been soaked in water for too long.

Looking back on Jaden's early pictures, I'll admit now that he wasn't very attractive. Now, however, I think he's pretty darn cute. His skin is a gorgeous olive color and he has the most extraordinary eyes, they are blueish-green. Very pretty.

Overall Jaden is a lot of fun to be around. I go to bed each night thinking about him sleeping peacefully in his crib and I get excited with the anticipation of seeing him again in the morning. We spend all day together, every day and I love it. And he loves it too.
